Thelma Krug

Thelma Krug is a former senior researcher at the National Institute for Space Research. She has been deputy Secretary at the Secretary for Policies and Programs in Science and Technology at the then Ministry of Science and Technology; National Secretary at the Secretary for Climate Change and Environmental Quality at the Ministry of the Environment (MMA); and more recently (2017-2017), Director at the Department for Policies to Combat Deforestation at MMA. From 2002 to 2015 she chaired the Task Force on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories of IPCC, having been elected Vice-Chair of the Panel in October 2015. Since 2020 chairs the Terrestrial Observation Panel for Climate of the Global Climate Observation System of WMO.
