Laurent Durieux

Laurent Durieux coordinates the engagements of the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) to support the sustainable development goals (SDG) at the GEO Secretariat. He is also a member of the board of the Earth Observations (EO) for the SDG (EO4SDG) initiative. For sustainable Goal 11, also known as the urban SDG, he participates to the EO Toolkit for sustainable cities and human settlements developed by EO4SDG and UN Habitat to enable access to EO data and tools for urban analyst and decision makers. He previously developed innovative methodologies in the field of Geographic-Based Image Analysis to map urban sprawl using very high resolution satellite images and is an expert in artificial intelligence applied to big Earth data.
